Want to Sell Without Fees?

ArtFire - Buy Handmade - Sell Handmade

Check Out Artfire and Register Today!

Yes, I'm branching out and trying new venues! I'm so excited! This one is going to be great! It's On Fire (so to speak)!

Artfire.com is still in BETA, but it is amazing! There are absolutely no listing fees and they don't take a percentage of your sales. Also, we have Stats! That's right! Not only views but, real Stats! You can list up to ten items absolutely free. But you might be interested to know that if you become a Charter Member you can list as many items as you want with up to ten pictures of each item. Right now if you sign up on Artfire you can take it one step further and become a verified seller (Charter Member) for $7.00 per month for life! We can even link back to our Etsy shop (if you have one).

You have to hurry though! There are only 4,142 of 5,000 Accounts left (as of this post). This deal will expire at the end of the month (December) or if all of the memberships are gone--which ever comes first. I hope you check it out and join me there too. :)

"Almost a Trip to the PC Graveyard"

As some of you might already know, I lost everything on my computer not too long ago. This is the first post since I got my PC back up and running. It was horrible. I lost everything that I had put on it for the past three years! I could've cried.

There are still things I go to find or apps I go to fire up only to realize that they are no longer there. Bookmarks!! My gosh, I had so many of them for all sorts of things--some important, some just fun. Pictures of people, artwork, and other things that I never did get around to transferring to disks or printing off (I think that is where I actually cried).

Anyway, I'm back up now, and I swear I will be backing up my computer from this moment on.

The picture on the right is a pendant I made recently. It is a rock that I drilled and painted to resemble my Gourd Spirit Masks.

'Till next time...

Shop Updates Have Started!

I've started updating my shop yesterday and have added a few new items. I'll be adding more tonight and tomorrow as well. One of the items I added is pictured here, below. It is a rock pendant that I painted to resemble the Gourd Spirit Masks that I make. There are three of these pendants listed in the shop now, and each one of them is so cool and different.

Please stop in and check them out!

Just stopped in for a moment to post this and must now get back to the studio!
Have a great weekend!

New Rock Bass - Daisy

New Rock Bass - Daisy, originally uploaded by avision4.

Today we are getting ready for a huge rummage sale that we are going to have this weekend. It is a lot of work, but we are up for the challenge. Slowly, but surely, we are lightening our load.

The one thing that bothers me is the State Fair is all this week, with the last day being on Sunday. We may not see that many people here because of that, I hope I'm wrong about that.

As the title states, Daisy is the newest little fish to join the rest of the Thicket Pets in my shop Stop by to see her and all of her friends!

Also new to the shop this week are my wooden bookmarks! I had made these in the past to take to shows and they went over really big. Check them out while you're there too!

That's all for now, have a great day!

More work in progress--Fish!

More work in progress--Fish!, originally uploaded by avision4.

These are the latest fish (Rock Bass? ;) )I am working on along side of the Steampunk Gourd. Some of them are in the very early stages of development while a couple of them are nearly finished. :)

I've been working in my shop late at night now to help me wind down from my hectic (and sometimes stressful) days. My work is what keeps me more on the sane side of life. Plus, I ca't think of a better, more relaxing way to wind down.

Today will be spent totally indoors! We are under a winter storm warning for up to 12 inches of snow and at least 1/2 inch of sleet until tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. I don't mind one bit, in fact, I'm happy to stay inside today!

Hope you all have a terrific day and stay safe!

Score! A Great Find!

Have you ever wandered in to your Goodwill Store just to look around and see what kind of treasures you might stumble across? Well, not too long ago, I was at our local Goodwill Store and came across this little chrome gem! It was tucked behind some old candle holders, knicknacks, and other miscellaneous things on a shelf below eye level.

I think in it's former life it was a toothbrush holder. I was not in the market for a toothbrush holder but, I was looking for something that I could keep the brushes I was currently using on a specific project, all together and upright. This was the perfect solution!

I use these particular brushes in the photo for painting on my rocks. Now I can keep them all together and upright when I am painting somewhere other than in my shop. :) It sure beats the heck out of laying them on the table or lugging my big paintbrush stand, with all of my brushes, around to where I want to paint.

If you decide you would like to try painting on rocks, keep in mind that rocks are terribly hard on brushes so don't use your expensive brushes on them. Buy a cheap set of brushes and use them specifically for your rocks....as you can see, I learned the hard way. :)

Later on today, possibly this evening, I will be posting more about the progress of my steampunk gourd.

Have a wonderful day, it's Time for me to get back to work.

Happy Easter from the Twisted Thicket

White Rabbit, originally uploaded by avision4.

All of us, the fish, the little creatures, and I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter Sunday!

The thicket is bustling with activity right now getting ready for our Easter dinner and an afternoon of table and video games.

Hope you all have a fun and memorable day with friends and family too.

About the rabbit pictured above; This is my white rabbit. It is a 22 lb rock that I airbrushed. He is now living in another part of town, with a very happy owner!

See you tomorrow!

Spring is in the Air!

Introducing Candace!, originally uploaded by avision4.

Spring is here, well almost, and with it comes new beginings!

New fish from the depths of the Thicket Pond are slowly making their way into my shop. They usually find new homes very quickly. The one pictured here is "Candace". You can read more about her in the Sold section of my shop.

As far as gourds go, I am working on something new right now that involves the new and increasingly popular trend of "Steampunk"! There are two new pieces that will be listed in my Etsy shop within the next couple of weeks. So be sure to keep an eye out for them!

Speaking of new beginings... I'm also in the process of moving and this is taking up a lot of time that I didn't normally have. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by it all but, when things get to be too much, I settle myself down with my tools and a gourd or two.

I've also started a new blog today which will more than likely just echo this one to get more reach on the web. This blogging program, Moguling, is new to me. I've always used Wordpress and Blogger (Blogspot) but, this new one is terrific so far! It is also in BETA right now and from what I've been reading, they will be adding a lot more. Check it out when you get a chance, I think you might like it too. :)

My Moguling blog link is http://twistedthicket.ireporter.tv/ , I chose to use the three-column template with a sidebar on each side. There are many other templates to choose from as well.

The boxes beckon, so I must get back to work.
Have a great day!

If it Weren't for Bad Luck.....

I'd have no luck at all :/

Tabby, originally uploaded by avision4, is listed in my Etsy Shop, Twisted Thicket

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone and the holiday season is officially underway.

I have run into a slight problem (as if I needed any more), my computer has crashed and now I am only able to come online every couple of days by way of the library until it gets repaired.

I had planned on having a huge Cyber Monday sale and giveaway, but right now am not sure how I will be able to manage it...at least it wont be the same as I had intended since I am unable to upload any new photos..

You can still take a look in my Etsy Shop to see what I have available at the moment. Please do! The rock painting of a Tabby cat (above) is listed in the shop right now.

I will still be holding a Holiday Giveaway, but I probably wont be able to upload pics of the prize until after I get back online at home. I think on Monday (my next trip to the library), I will be posting the details of that and more in my shop announcement.

Hope you all had a terrific Thanksgiving and have a wonderful weekend!

'Till Monday then.... :D
